Vehicle Wraps: 5 Options to Boost Your Brand Awareness

There are tons of ways to market your business, but if your in the trades with a fleet on the road, not much beats your own moving billboard — your truck, van or other work vehicle. So why go undetected when you can super charge your drive time?

Brightly colored, attractive vehicle wraps make your company vehicles stand out from all the other cars on the road. Passing drivers won’t pay much attention to a plain white van on the road, but they will notice a well-designed vehicle wrap — something that stands out from the crowd.

5 Primary Types of Vehicle Wraps

  1. Logos: Most often seen on the door panels but can also be placed on the rear or hood of a vehicle, this is the entry point to vehicle wrapping. A good start, but it doesn’t go beyond vehicle identification, which is very different than creating a memorable experience.
  2. Lettering: Combine lettering with the aforementioned logo, and you’ve beefed it up a notch and provided a call to action for a passerby, be it a website address or phone number.
  3. Half: As the name implies, this type of vehicle wrap covers half the sides and full rear. This solution provides a nice impact without the expense of going with a partial (2/3 or full wrap).
  4. Partial: Also referred to as 2/3 wrap, it covers sides and full rear. Still more budget friendly than the full wrap, this is a great option, but does require more creativity and attention to composition to make the most of the space and factor in the vehicle model nuances such as windows, door handles, lights, etc.
  5. Full: If you’re ready to run with the big dogs, a full vehicle wrap is the way to go. It includes all sides except the roof top. Again, it’s best to enlist the help of a professional who can create a design solution that not only looks good on your specific vehicle, but also knows the best materials to use to protect your moving investment amidst the day-to-day environmental factors that can take a toll on your wrap.

Wondering if it’s worth the investment?

So how much does a vehicle wrap cost?

Like most things…it depends. But for most trade vans or similar vehicles, you can count on investing between $2,500 to $5,000, depending on the type of wrap, complexity of the project and how much of the design work you have done in house, versus requiring the assistance of the production company.

As for wear and tear, exhaust fumes, weather, heat and other elements, all factor into the longevity of your wrap. It is likely you can expect 5+ years of quality performance from your vehicle graphics, just be sure you understand the specifics about your wrap warranty. Most vehicle wrap companies pass the manufacturers (3M, Avery, etc) warranty along to their customers, but be sure to ask so you manage expectations.

Where do you start?

Start by having an idea of what you’re looking for. What message do you want to send to potential customers? Do you want to include contact information or some kind of call to action? You’ll also need to know the make and model of the vehicle to be wrapped. Need help? Give us a call at 410-366-9479.
